Birdfoxmonster is a series of immersive dining experiences featuring performances that explore the artists’ idiosyncratic attachments to food, ranging from romantic to obsessive. Audiences have the opportunity to taste the meals while being submerged in performances by the artists themselves.

Birdfoxmonster is a collaboration between Studio A artists and Erth director Scott Wright – one of 10 new works by artists with disability commissioned by Carriageworks over three years, as part of its New Normal strategy, which aims to remove barriers to inclusion in the arts.

Featured artists include poet and visual artist Meagan Pelham, installation specialist Thom Roberts, and performance and visual artist Skye Saxon.

Carriageworks, Erth and Studio A presented Birdfoxmonster, an intimate, multi-sensory dining experience at the intersection of theatrical performance, food and visual art from 21–30 September 2017.

All five human senses have been engaged in this truly groundbreaking work.

It’s hard to be critical when you’re invited to a theatre dinner where the food and service is great, and every plate, design and immersive theatricality is a very personal expression of the three performers.
